The Surplus Project
“The Surplus Project” is designed by Zero Foodprint Asia to efficiently distribute surplus farm food to local restaurants at a discounted price. The industrialized and segmented nature of the food supply chain often leads to a surplus already at the start of the chain, wasting not only the produce but also inputs such as water, time, and energy. This initiative aims to avoid food waste, support farmers’ livelihoods, and ultimately create a community around local food and the people who grow them.
