天氣越來越潮濕温暖，冬季的蔬菜作物像是椰菜差不多到尾聲了，不凡正忙於把新一輪的作物種到田裏，例如瓜和豆。這些幼苗正處於關鍵的時期，需要與土壤微生物建立關係，必須及時使用堆肥和菇泥，而這些物料都需要花費不少人力才能從儲存處搬到田裏。
農場正逐步減少肥料的用量，取而代之的是以益菌發酵而成的液體，裏面的碳及微量元素可平衡氮磷鉀，同時能為土壤增加對植物有益的細菌。對農夫而言，放棄用了數以十年的東西並不容易，正因如此，我們的顧問Josephine和TAP們需要與農夫緊密合作，並示範新做法的正面效果，特別是在減低病蟲害方面。看到只在堆肥及發酵液下，南瓜苗快速而強勁的生長，讓農夫更有信心再進一步轉型。
